In partnership with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government (Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation) and the SABC, the 16th Annual South African Traditional Music Achievement (SATMA) Awards will be held under the theme My Culture, Your Culture, One Nation.
The awards showcase the richness of traditional music heritage nationally and globally, collaborating with cultural organizations with similar goals within our nation.
This year’s main event takes place in Mpumalanga, Mbombela on the 27th of November 2021, a full line up of entertainment by Kelly Khumalo, Reece Madlisa & Zuma, Stimela, Ntencane and Obert Dube
Before the main event a golf day and a fashion show will be held on 26 November 2021 (both of which are charitable events for the province of Mpumalanga).
In addition to the above entertainers, there are also 7 cultural groups, Sepedi, Venda, Swati, Indian, Afrikaans, Tsonga and Ndebele participating in the event.
The main event was preceded by roadshows, which were held in all nine provinces recruiting talented artists.
Media houses across provinces, as well as SABC channels and stations will cover the main event with all nominees and dignitaries in attendance.
