Limpopo’s only commercial radio station, Capricorn FM, celebrated their fourteenth birthday on Friday at the station’s premises in Bendor, Polokwane.
The station caters for all types of listeners from different backgrounds with ever evolving preferences by serving outstanding content, great music and showcasing extraordinary talent.
As part of their birthday celebration, the station will be embarking on community building activations to engage more with the listeners and followers of the brand.

This will be done in partnership with the Limpopo Department of Health as they push their vaccination drive across the province.
According to station managing director, James Shikwambana, the station will also be giving away various prizes to their listeners on air and on their digital platforms throughout the month of November.
“We need to keep encouraging our people to vaccinate against Covid19 in order for life to move forward. Businesses are suffering because of this pandemic which means households are affected and the entire, province’s economy is affected. This is our way of encouraging our listeners to vaccinate so that we put an end to this pandemic,” said Shikwambana.

He said the prizes include cash, merchandise and other goodies. This as they celebrate the 258% audience growth as announced by BRC Rams Amplify on Friday.
The theme we are going with for this year is #BehindTheHeat because we are celebrating all the people who have been loyal to the brand. That is a mixture of listeners, stakeholders and our staff members who continue to push forward to ensure that what people hear and see, indeed represents a Progressive Limpopo,” he said.
The station’s audience growth goes as far as Free State, Mpumalanga and Gauteng with a total of 619 000 listeners.
