Three people were unfortunately killed in three separate accidents on Limpopo road this past Friday. The first accident was reported on the D11 road at Sekgosese in Mopani near Lemondokop where a driver of a VW Polo Sedan lost control of the vehicle. He hit a tree in the early hours of the morning.
The driver was certified dead on the scene, reckless driving and speeding is suspected to be the cause of the accident.

The second accident was reported in Capricorn on Rita road at Solomondale turn where a driver of a VW Fox lost control of the vehicle and overturned. A 32-year-old passenger was killed on impact and the driver also escaped with serious injuries. Speeding is cited as a possible cause of the accident.

The third one which is a multiple-car crash happened on the D3260 Selwane road in Mopani. It is alleged that an over-loaded Toyota Van collided with a Suzuki Sedan. Before crashing head-on with a VW Polo Sedan.
A male passenger was killed on impact, one person was critically injured. Six sustained serious injuries and six others escaped with minor injuries. The injured were also rushed to Maphuta Malatjie Hospital.

This brings to five, the number of people who were killed since the start of the long Easter Weekend.
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya says the visibility of officers is very critical in the Districts where the majority of the road users are. The MEC is also pleading with motorists not to drink and drive.
