Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) who brutally killed an elderly woman aged 85. Her body was found in her house at Kuranta village under the Mokwakwaila policing area. It was discovered this morning, Tuesday 17 May 2022 at about 06:00.

The Police received a report about a murder incident that occurred in the said village. On arrival, they found the deceased with multiple serious injuries inside the house. It also appeared the assailant(s) used a sharp object to kill the victim.

Emergency services were also called and the elderly woman was certified dead on the scene. She was identified as Maidi Puledi Malefofane aged 85.

“I strongly condemn this horrendous incident in which the most vulnerable member of our society has become the latest target of the heartless criminals,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.


“District Commissioner, Major General Willie Mashava has been directed to lead the team that has started hunting down the killer. I also call on community members to assist the Police. By providing valuable information that can lead to the arrest of these/this criminal(s),” concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.
