Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) will launch its summer campaign as an initiative to promote and drive domestic tourism during this festive season.

The campaign will be launched on Thursday, 10 November at Meloding Guest House, Bela-Bela, Waterberg District.

LTA will collaborate with Limpopo Economic Development and Tourism (LEDET), National Department of Tourism (NDT), South African Tourism (SAT), Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association (LPTA).

The central objective is to also increase domestic tourism trips to the province by creating awareness about destination Limpopo.


“This is further to encourage local citizens to travel and explore various tourism experiences in the province thus ensuring that the province is top of mind to all South Africans,” said LTA in a statement.

“The summer campaign is one of the longest campaigns by period undertaken by LTA and the industry similarly. The warmer months (September to April) of the year are the best times to drive tourism numbers. Naturally the best time to travel to this magnificent province of Limpopo. As the weather supports a lot of outdoor activities and tourism in general.”


This campaign takes place against the backdrop of a very successful Tourism Month campaign. That was characterized by several partnerships including collaborative efforts with Miss Heritage Global company. To also host the pageant for the first time in Limpopo, at Kalahari Waterfront, Budeli village outside Thohoyandou in Vhembe.

The Summer Campaign will be characterized by activities that are directed at the consumer which include Limpopo Holiday Fair. A property that was developed to become the future Limpopo Tourism Trade Fair outside of the major centers. The main objective of the campaign will be to position destination Limpopo as a year-round leisure, business and special interest destination.

Waterberg District will be the springboard of the 2022 Summer Campaign with a myriad of activities.
