A Modimolle serial rapist was arrested following meticulous investigation by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit.

Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the job by her team that resulted in the arrest of a 59-year-old man yesterday.

The man was suspected to be a serial rapist at Vaalwater outside Modimolle.


The suspect is believed to be linked to three separate rape cases that took place between 2013 and 2017. He allegedly raped women aged between 17 and 43.

He was arrested by Detectives from Modimolle FCS Unit yesterday, at the Fochville Magistrate’s Court in North West Province where was appearing on a charge of rape.


The suspect was targeting victims in the bushes near shopping Centres and would attack them while they were walking through the bushes. He also threatened them with a knife or strangle them.

The suspect was arrested after he was positively linked to the cases through forensic evidence.

The culprit is appeared before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday 09 November 2022 facing charges of rape.
