Two thousand, one hundred and fifty-three (2153) suspects aged between 19 and 61 suspects arrested by the Police in Limpopo for various offences.

The crimes include murder, attempted murder, rape, dealing in drugs, unlawful possession of firearms and Contravention of the Immigration Act.

They were conducted from 31 October to 07 November 2022. Operations were carried out by the various Police units such as Crime Intelligence, Limpopo Highway Patrol team, K9, Crime Prevention, Detectives, Stock theft, VCIU, and Flying Squad.

Firearms, drugs, and other items recovered during the operations are as follows. 14x firearms, 1769 × Counterfeit Cigarettes, large quantity of alcohol,  25 x dangerous weapons, 73 knives, 10 x stolen/ robbed vehicles, various drugs in the form of dagga, Nyaope and Crystal Meth.

Further. 2158 fines were issued for the Road Traffic Offences and 72 shebeens closed.


During the operation conducted in the Polokwane Policing area, a 42-year-old foreign National suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs. Police confiscated Crystal meth and other drugs to the estimated street value of R 2000-00.

Three suspects aged between 26 and 37 were arrested for business burglary. Possession of suspected stolen properties at Bloodriver outside Seshego on 31 October 2022. The suspects were positively linked with burglary committed at a school in the Matlala policing area. Stolen items such as groceries were confiscated.

A 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of illicit cigarettes on 31 October 2022 during the operation conducted in the Sekhukhune District. Main suspect was arrested in the Groblersdal CBD and 12 cartoons of illicit cigarettes worth R1300 were confiscated.


The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the members for performing their duties diligently and ensuring the citizens of this province are protected.

Some of the suspects by have started appearing before various Magistrate’s courts across the province.

The  operations are ongoing in all the Districts of the Province.
