The Polokwane Municipality have announced a planned power supply interruption within the City area for eight hours on Friday, 10 March.  

This is due to repairs of a broken earth wire on existing Alpha 66 kilovolts (kV) line and installation of a new high voltage equipment at Gamma Substation.  

The following areas will be without electricity for eight hours between 08:00 – 16:00:

Polokwane Municipality power supply cut

“Areas not affected by the interruption will not experience loadshedding for the duration of the maintenance work,” the Polokwane Municipality said in a statement.  

“Power supply shall be restored once the municipal maintenance team has completed repairs. Scheduled load shedding will, then, be implemented as directed by Eskom after the completion of maintenance work.

“All affected areas are advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances during the shutdown to avoid injury and damage when supply is restored. Polokwane Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.”
