The Golf passport has been on the cards of LTA since 2014 when it was first conceptualized. This is the first of its kind in the country and is in collaboration with the Gauteng and Free State Provinces.

It was introduced in an attempt to heighten Limpopo’s sport tourism profile. Also to cement the notion that Limpopo is capacious to host golf events of international standard.
“This will no doubt bring more visitors to the province with discounts to participating golfers every time they play at any participating golf courses of their choice. Our golf resorts are so pristine with beautiful amenities including wildlife,” said LTA Chairperson Andrew Dipela at the launch.
“This is also done to promote the Safari Route in Limpopo to put Limpopo on the world pedestal. But to also attract both local and international golf enthusiasts to stay and play their golf in Limpopo.”
When will the Limpopo Golf Passport become available?
The Passport will be available from August 2023 and the first recipients will be the four ball winners of the Limpopo Championship Pro-Am.
“We are confident as the Agency that our partnership with the private sector organisations such as Sunshine Tour displays prospects of tourism growth in the province and our partnership with them confirms that.
“With our new mandate and strategic focus as a marketing Agency, we are confident of turning the corner thereby putting the province on a growth trajectory by increasing the tourist numbers while increasing the length of stay in the province thus creating much needed job opportunities to fight poverty and inequality in our province,” he said.
Golfers also enjoyed themselves with a two day tournament at the Mogol Golf course.
