Sekhukhune United stunned Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in a DStv Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo on Sunday. Babina Noko’s goal came via Sammy Seabi in the fourth minute of the match.

The loss further jeopardises their chances of a CAF Champions League qualification. They are now on 41 points, five points behind Orlando Pirates with four matches remaining. Amakhosi are also three points behind SuperSport United who are in the third spot.

They will have themselves to blame for the defeat after missing a few clear-cut chances during the encounter. Ashley Du Preez came close as early as the third minute but his shot only came close. A minute later Seabi gave the hosts a lead from a close-range shot inside the 18 area box.

Both clubs showed intentions to score but it was Amakhosi who dominated the second stanza but still failed to convert.

Their last four matches will not be easy if they are still to get a chance to finish second. They will travel to Chippa United on Thursday, 27 April. Chippa are fighting for their lives and are currently at position 15 in the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs will then return to Polokwane where they will host struggling Swallows. Swallows are also third from bottom on the log and have four matches left to0 save their status., Chiefs will also face SuperSport United before wrapping up the season with a match against Cape Town City.
