Doctors at Jane Furse Hospital in Sekhukhune District, Limpopo helped a 22-year-old mother deliver triplets on Wednesday evening.

Phina Manaleng delivered triplets (two girls and one boy) at 23h35, 23h41 and 23h44.

The two girls weighed 2kg each and a boy 3kg. All the babies were also delivered through normal vaginal delivery(NVD).

Meanwhile, Gladys Komane aged 26 delivered twins (two boys) at 03h38 and 04h10 at the same Hospital.

The first boy weighed 2.2 kg and the second one weighed 3kg and all were also delivered through normal vaginal delivery (NVD).

Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba has congratulated Jane Furse Hospital midwives who supported their doctors in making sure that triplets and twins were delivered safely through normal vaginally delivery today at

“We congratulate the two mothers for being blessed with triplets and twins,” she said.

“We are glad that the mothers and babies are well and in good health conditions. The department applauds the midwives, and doctors for helping the mothers during the delivery process.

“As a province, we declared 2023 as a year of primary healthcare mainly to improve access to quality healthcare to women and their unborn babies which will reduce their mortality,” said MEC Ramathuba.
