Actor Hungani Ndlovu will be one of the new faces on SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam after being revealed as a replacement for Cornet Mamabolo.

Mamabolo left the show in 2021 to focus on his insurance business. Mamabolo runs an insurance company called Digni financial services that offers funeral policies, employee benefits and underwriting.

On Thursday, the SABC announced that Ndlovu was the new Thabo ‘T’Bose’ Maputla on the popular show which has been renewed for another season. The new season will air on 3 July 2023 making this its 12th year since the drama series’ debut.

“The character of ‘Tbose’ has been recast and will now be played by actor and dancer, Hungani Ndlovu.”

MORE NEW FACES ON SKEEM SAAM 

In the same statement, the SABC has also revealed that seasoned actor Tazz Nginda will also join the show playing the character of Sisanda Qhubeka.

“A new character is also being introduced to the show. Tazz Nginda will be playing the character of Sisanda Qhubeka. A charming, marketing strategist who oozes sex appeal and great confidence. But not everyone will welcome him with open arms, as he subtly stirs trouble that leaves the Maphosa kingdom divided,” they said. 

Tazz will make his first appearance on Friday, 14 July.
