Two Limpopo learners perished in a Bus accident at Ga-Mamabolo, Capricorn District on Monday morning. The two female learners were on their way to school when a scholar transport bus that they were traveling in lost control and crashed into an old building. They are learners from Sehlomola Primary and MR Mamabolo Secondary schools.
Over twenty learners at the accident and the driver of the bus were rushed to Mankweng Hospital for medical attention. The information about the accident is still a matter of investigation by the authorities.

MEC for the Department of Education in Limpopo, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya is saddened by the untimely death and has passed her sincere and heartfelt condolences to the two families. She wished a speedy recovery to all the learners who are still receiving medical attention.

LEARNERS DIE IN BUS ACCIDENT
“We woke this morning to the sad news of a bus accident that claimed the lives of our two learners. It is heartbreaking because these kids are the future leaders of the country and we were still expecting to see them grow and achieve their dreams,” she said.
“Our teams of social workers are already dispatched to the schools for debriefing and to offer the much-needed psycho-support. Our prayers are with the families and the teachers during this difficult time,” said MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya.
Two learners are in critical but stable condition while eighteen were treated and released.
