Limpopo provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe on Friday released the 2022/23 4th Quarter Crime Stats with Thohoyandou as the biggest concern in terms of crime.
The Thohoyandou area is number one in terms of reported crimes in Limpopo. Cases reported have increased by 18 per cent from 11 236 in the last quarter to 14 59 in the last three months. They are the leading area when it comes to attempted murder, Rape, Carjacking, and robbery at non-residential premises.

Lieutenant Hadebe released the latest statistics at the SAPS Limpopo headquarters in Polokwane. The event was also attended by MEC for Department of Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani.
4TH QUATER CRIME STATS
Murder cases remain one of the stubborn crimes in the province with the chunk cases coming as a result of vigilantism. Murder has generally increased by 13.7% as compared to the previous quarter. Vigilantism contributed immensely to the overall number followed by argument/misunderstanding or provocations.

There has been a slight increase of 6.4% in sexual offences and managed to put 254 suspects behind bars. The Police recorded an increase of 0.3% in robberies at residential places and 9.2% increase in non-residential places, and
recorded a 13,4% increase in Car-jacking.
