The two suspected kidnappers in connection with the kidnapping and rape of 19-year-old Zaid Kapadia have abandoned their bail application.
Phumudzo Chris Nemutudi [27] and Thompho Mudau [25] made their first court appearance in June. They made another appearance at the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

It is alleged that the two demanded a ransom amount of R2 million from Kapadia’s parents. According to police reports, they received a tip-off about a house where the teenage boy was being held captive.

The suspects fled the scene but handed themselves over to the police at a later stage. National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says the suspects have been remanded into custody and the case has been postponed to the 8th of September.
