The two suspected kidnappers in connection with the kidnapping and rape of 19-year-old Zaid Kapadia have abandoned their bail application.
Phumudzo Chris Nemutudi  and Thompho Mudau  made their first court appearance in June. They made another appearance at the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
It is alleged that the two demanded a ransom amount of R2 million from Kapadia’s parents. According to police reports, they received a tip-off about a house where the teenage boy was being held captive.

The suspects fled the scene but handed themselves over to the police at a later stage. National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says the suspects have been remanded into custody and the case has been postponed to the 8th of September.
