Two suspects aged 34 and 38 who allegedly committed business robbery at Sekgopo Post Office in Limpopo on Tuesday 04 July have been arrested.
According to information, a group of heavily armed suspects went into a Post Office situated inside a Fuel station at Mojeketla Village in Ga-Sekgopo at around 13:00. They demanded money from the employees.
These suspects allegedly instructed the manager on duty through a glass counter(pay point) to open the office door at gunpoint. They opened, and two of the suspects entered and further instructed the manager to open the safe.

They then robbed them an undisclosed amount of money. When they were about to flee the scene with a getaway vehicle black VW Polo, Police had already arrived. A shootout ensued between the Police and the suspects.

One suspect was cornered and arrested in the area. The other one was later arrested that day at around 17:00, caught by Community Members and handed to Police. The suspect was also arrested.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the black VW Polo utilised by the suspects was linked to a hijacking incident that occurred on Monday 03 July.
The arrested suspects will appear before Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 06 July 2023. They are facing charges of business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms.
