Two foreign Nationals were arrested by the members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit on Thursday for selling drugs at Polokwane CBD. They were apprehended on Thursday afternoon at about 16:00.

Police were conducting a disruptive operation when they received information about a male suspect who was selling drugs in the area. He was driving a grey Renault motor vehicle. The members immediately started investigations to locate the vehicle.

The motor vehicle fitting the description was spotted with two occupants driving along Voortrekker Street in Polokwane. It was subsequently intercepted and stopped.

A 29-year-old male suspect attempted to flee on foot but was chased and nabbed at the corner of Voortrekker and Grobler Street. He was searched and found in possession of three balls of Heroin drugs amounting to R6 000.

The vehicle was searched and Police discovered four balls of Heroin drugs concealed with an estimated street value of R50.000 wrapped inside plastic bags. His 34-year-old male accomplice who is the owner of the motor vehicle was immediately placed under arrest on the spot.

In addition, a Renault motor vehicle valued at R70.000 was also seized together with the drugs during the arrest.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo welcomed the arrest. She pointed out that the members are doing well in cleaning the Streets of any drugs.

The suspects are expected to appear before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court. They are facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.
