Rakgoale says even though they have experienced some challenges at the beginning they are happy that they are moving somewhere. The MEC has also acknowledged that they have not done well due to challenges such as lack of resources. She says they would be far by now in terms of road construction and maintenance if they would get more resources.

Meanwhile, RAL’s Maluleke says the construction project of the steel bridge is currently sitting at eight percent.
Maluleke says there were a number of challenges including those brought in by the small, medium and micro-enterprise owners. But have since been resolved and will be managed going forward.

He says they are on track and the first lane of the bridge is likely to be completed by November. Once the first lane of the bridge is completed they will be able to close the old bridge and divert traffic while busy with construction of the second lane.
