The Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture hosted a Film and Video Workshop in Polokwane with the aim of resuscitating the industry in the province.
They brought together the established and aspirant filmmakers under one roof. The workshop is being utilised as a vehicle to re-establish the provincial Film and Video Committee. It will in turn assist in developing the guideline to govern the industry in the province.
“The film and video industry has the potential to stimulate debates, foster social cohesion and nation building. Further, create job opportunities and economic empowerment,” the department said.
The Limpopo Planning Workshop was held at Polokwane Landmark Hotel earlier this week.
FILM AND VIDEO WORKSHOP A SUCCESS
It was hosted by the department in collaboration with Nfvf, LEDA, LACC and other stakeholders.
“The department firmly believes that this industry has the potential to spark meaningful discussions, create jobs, and promote economic empowerment.”
