A 38-year-old Nigerian suspect was arrested in Polokwane CBD on Tuesday when he was caught with crystal meth drugs. This follows a disruptive operation by members of the Limpopo Organized Crime Unit.

The suspect was spotted driving a Toyota Starlet hatchback with a Limpopo registration number. He was reportedly on his way out of the complex for delivery.

He was stopped and searched, and crystal meth drugs with an estimated street value of R30,000 were found hidden underneath the driver’s seat. The suspect was then arrested, and the drugs as well as the motor vehicle valued at R80,000 were seized.

Limpopo Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the team for showing relentless effort in their work to rid this Province of drugs.

The suspect will appear before the Polokwane magistrate court on Thursday, 14 September 2023. He is facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
