A 61-year-old suspect Rufus Louw allegedly insulted one of his female employees by calling her a k*ffir while on duty at Phalaborwa Recycling Company has been granted bail. Louw appeared before Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Friday, 15 September 2023. He is facing a charge of Crime Injuria.

He was granted a R1000 bail and he will appear again on 06 November 2023 for further Police investigations.

His arrest comes after he allegedly insulted one of his female employees by using the kaffir word towards her. She works for Louw at Phalaborwa Recycling Company.

The victim reported the incident to the Police, a case was opened against the employer and he was arrested.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident. She has called it unacceptable and urged community members to report such cases to the Police who will investigate and arrest the perpetrators.
