A Father [43] residing in Solomondale, Limpopo has been arrested for the rape of his 6-year-old biological daughter. The Man. who is a foreign national, was first arrested on Thursday and was remanded in Police custody when he appeared before Mankweng Magistrates Court on Friday.

It is reported that the mother and the father had an arrangement that the father should reside with their daughter at his residence in Solomondale at the beginning of the last December year. It is further reported that during the victim’s visit to her mother and while bathing, she complained about pains in the private parts. 

The mother suspected that the daughter might have been raped and took the child to the clinic for a medical examination. The Doctor confirmed that indeed the child was raped. She indicated that her father raped her.

The incident was immediately reported to the Police on Wednesday 18 October 2023. The suspect was apprehended the next day while at his residence in Solomondale prior to his Court appearance on Friday. His case was postponed to Friday 27 October 2023.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the shocking incident in the strongest possible terms. She applauded the Police for the immediate arrest of the suspect.

“He was expected to provide and protect the daughter. Instead he destroys her future, this is disturbing indeed,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
