Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt following a robbery at Ackermans shop in Elim by thugs pretending to be customers and got away with an undisclosed number of cellphones on Sunday. The incident took place at around 10:15 at the Elim Plaza under Makhado.

Preliminary reports indicate that the suspects went into the shop pretending to be customers. They then threatened the employees with firearms and held them hostage while ransacking the shop.

The suspects robbed the shop with an undisclosed number of cellphones. They fled the scene in a white Toyota Etios with an unknown registration number.

Police have opened a case of business robbery and the investigation team is working tirelessly around the clock to trace the suspects involved.

MAN STABBED TO DEATH IN LWAMONDO

Meanwhile, Police in Vuwani are investigating a case of murder after a 25-year-old male victim was allegedly stabbed to death with a sharp object. The incident took place along the street at Lwamondo Ha Gelebe, in the early hours of Sunday 19 November 2023 at about 03:00.

Police responded to a complaint of murder at Tshilidzini hospital. Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a stab wound on his upper body. He was reportedly certified dead on arrival at the hospital.

The deceased was later identified as Funanani Mulaudzi. They have subsequently started a manhunt for the unknown suspects
