Former Orlando Pirates player Thandani Ntshumayelo appeared at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday on charges of assault. The 33-year-old is accused of assaulting his girlfriend on Friday, 2 February 2024.

The former Bafana Bafana star was released on R1000 bail. He is expected to be back in court on 04 April 2024. The case was postponed for further investigations.

“The incident happened on 02 February 2024, at his place of residence,” said the NPA in a statement.

“The complaint is in a relationship with the accused and alleges that she was with him and his friends at his place when a fight between the accused and one of his friends ensued.

She then tried to intervene in an attempt to calm down the accused. Ntshumayelo then allegedly became aggressive towards her, by slapping her across the face,” read the statement.

THANDANI NTSHUMAYELO APPEARED IN COURT FOR ASSAULT ON HIS GIRLFRIEND 

“He grabbed her by her head and hit her against the wall. She further alleges that he then pushed her to the ground.” Ntshumayelo has also played for clubs such as Moroka Swallows, Baroka FC and SuperSport United.
