The Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, Mopani led by the Mayor, Merriam Malatji on Friday handed over a sewer pump infrastructure to Namakgale residents in Foskor Zone D. The Municipality handed the infrastructure in partnership with Palabora Mining Company [PMC]. 

It is one of the 13 Sewer pumps that were requested by Mayor Malatji from PMC to assist communities in Phalaborwa town, Namakgale and Lulekani.

This is to help them live in a healthy environment as part of the Social Labour Plan between the Municipality and PMC. The municipality says Phalaborwa town and Lulekani will also receive sewer pumps soon. 

Mayor Malatji also thanked PMC for heeding the call to assist the Municipality in improving the lives of the residents citing ‘that it was long overdue’. 

She also urged municipal employees responsible for water and sewer to maintain the sewer pump to ensure that it continues to serve the community for a sustainable period.

SEWER PUMP INFRASTRUCTURE HANDED OVER TO NAMAKGALE RESIDENTS BY BA-PHALABORWA MUNICIPALITY 

Ms Tshidi Ngobeni who was representing PMC says they will continue to assist the Municipality to improve the socio-economic activities of the local residents. 

The Mayor was accompanied by the Speaker, Cllr Oliver Mabunda, Ward 1 councillor, Joe Mamphuru, a delegation from PMC, appointed contractors and municipal support staff.
