Talented Limpopo-born actor and rapper Kope Makgae, also known as Mrekza, has officially left Generations: The Legacy. Makgae announced his departure on his Instagram page on Friday. 

The University of Limpopo media studies graduate confirmed the news a week after it was revealed that he had joined the new drama series Isiphetho: The Destiny.

“THANK YOU, GOD, It’s been one hell of a journey & I’d sincerely like to thank everyone who has supported and elevated my career to where I am today,” he said.

“Those that have helped me shine, sharpen my artistic artillery & feed my fam. It’s been a pleasure to spar with industry giants like @manakaranaka & @cosmo170. It was hard to say goodbye to the colleagues that became friends & family,” read his post. 

“To all the viewers who let me into their homes and appreciate my craft, I have humble love and appreciation for you all. @ditebogoledwaba, I miss you already. Thank you, bafethu.”

Makgae will star as Mosa in the new e.TV drama series. He will star alongside Uzalo actress Gugu Gumede, who will star as Connie. The star-studded cast of Isiphetho also includes The Wife actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela and Thulani Mtsweni.
