Limpopo MEC for Health Dr Phophi Ramathuba officially opened a newly built eye clinic at George Masebe Hospital. The Hospital is situated in the Mogalakwena Local Municipality in the Waterberg District. The newly constructed eye clinic is set to provide a range of essential services.

This also includes consultation services for cataract surgery, lens replacement, and glaucoma assessment, along with offering advanced eye examinations. Equipped with modernized technologies, the clinic meets the highest standards of eye care facilities.

DR PHOPHI RAMATHUBA OPENS A NEWLY BUILT EYE CLINIC AT GEORGE MASEBE HOSPITAL 

“We are thrilled about our partnership with the Ditholwana Tsa Rena Community Development Trust,” said MEC Ramathuba.

“It has been pivotal in our shared goal of eradicating treatable and avoidable blindness in our most underserved communities. This public-private collaboration represents a significant investment, providing life-changing vision correction consultations and restoring eyesight for patients in our communities,” she said. 

The opening of the clinic also follows up on the commitment by the MEC to decentralise ophthalmic services. Meanwhile, Ramathuba will lead the malaria team’s indoor residual spraying initiative at Madimbo Village on Friday.
