Tshidimbini village community in Limpopo were left shocked after a 38-year-old Man dismembered his brother’s head and injured his sister and her child in a gruesome incident on Monday. 

The police responded to the complaint of murder and attempted murder. Upon arrival at the scene, they came across a human head at the gate.

When they proceeded to the house, they found the decapitated body of a 41-year-old man, tied with a rope. It was also established that a 32-year-old woman and her 10-year-old girl were already transported to the hospital. This is after they were also allegedly attacked by the same family member.

The 38-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene in connection with the gruesome incident. Police further seized items that included a hammer, spade and knife believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.

TSHIDIMBINI VILLAGE GRUESOME INCIDENT CONDEMNED AS FAMILY MEMBER GETS ARRESTED 

The police have since opened a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder against the suspect. The motive behind the incident is still unknown at this stage, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has expressed shock over the horrific attack. 

“Such senseless, cruel and inhumane brutality has no place in our society,” she said. 

“We condemn it in the strongest possible terms. No one has a right to take anybody’s life even with the slightest provocation. We assure everyone affected that justice will be served without fear or favour,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe. The suspect will soon appear before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.
