The Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Council resolved in its seating to appoint Namudi Reginah Makgata as the new Municipal Manager. Makgata is appointed on a three-year fixed term basis commencing on the 3rd of June 2024.

She comes with more than thirteen years’ worth of experience in Local government at the Senior Management level.

Her experience includes Executive Director: of Technical & Infrastructure  Services [2021-2024] at Steve Tshwete Local Municipality. Senior Manager: Infrastructure [2017-2021] Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality. Senior Manager: Infrastructure [2013-2017] Waterberg District Municipality.

She holds a B Tech degree in Urban Engineering, Bachelor of Science Honours in applied science [transportation planning] a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Cape Town in addition to her many academic accolades she holds a Master in Business Administration.

NEW MUNICIPAL MANAGER APPOINTED AT ELIAS MOTSOALEDI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

On behalf of the council, Mayor David Tladi welcomed the newly appointed accounting officer into the Municipality. He wished her all the best in her new responsibilities with the hope and belief that she would help to move the municipality towards a clean audit opinion and better delivery of services to the communities.

In her response, Makgata said that her vision is to see a progressive and developed Elias Motsoaledi Municipality that takes care of all community needs and their well-being. She thanked the council for entrusting her with this role as well as Mr Mohlala for holding the fort as the Acting Municipal Manager. She went on to say that she hopes to plough back by working with staff members, councillors and community members to bring back the municipality to its glory.

“The municipality is, therefore, confident that the appointment will bring about the desired outcomes in the execution of the municipality’s service delivery strategies,” said the Municipality in a statement.
