There has been a breakthrough in the Limpopo Hotel owner murder case outside Burgersfort on Saturday 03 June 2023 at about 13:00. Hotel owner Angela Claasen (73) and nephew Hennie Classen (77) at Echo caves in Orighstad
The deceased’s charred remains were also discovered in two separate buildings in the Sekhukhune District. Preliminary investigation revealed that an African male suspect wearing balaclavas was seen fleeing the scene.

Immediately after the incident, The Provincial Commissioner mobilised maximum resources to track down and bring those responsible to book. The team comprising detectives from the Provincial Tracking Team and Ohrigstad in collaboration with Bosveld Misdaad Ondersoeke private security worked tirelessly on the case.
MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN THE MURDER CASE OF HOTEL OWNEER
The team followed information that led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male suspect in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 June at about 01:00 at his hideout in Tembisa, Gauteng province. The suspect is also an ex-employee at the hotel and was positively linked to the incident.
Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the investigation team.
“The swift detective work and joint efforts of this team is highly commendable, said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
The suspect will soon appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court. They are facing charges of house robbery, two counts of murder and also arson.
