Thabitha to fly the Limpopo flag high at Miss Teen Africa

Thabitha Mogashoa from Turfloop Mankweng Unit F, Limpopo will be representing South Africa at the Miss Teen Africa 2023 on 28 August in Cameroon.

The 18-year-old, who is re-writing her grade 12 at Star School in Braamfontein, is passionate about modeling. One of the things she learned from her upbringing in the Capricorn District was to be strong and to learn to stand up for herself.

She said she was inspired by Dimakatso Molope who also trained her in her first year of joining the industry.

“The Love and Passion I have for modeling also contributed to my interest in participating in the industry,” she says.

“As a finalist in a pageant, I get motivated by the opportunity given to speak out about things you are passionate about from a philanthropy point of view. The work behind me as an individual that grooms and prepares you to be the best or perfect contestant for the title,” said Mogashoa.

She aims to win the Miss Teen Africa 2023 to encourage young people with dreams and fear of believing in themselves to look up to her.

“To win I need to bring my A-game. For me to get the title I have to compete against the best of the best. Be confident and never doubt me. I taught myself acceptance because in a competition it’s either you win or lose. But at the end of the day I would have learned and also make sisters. Hard work, preparation, dedication and commitment are the key,” she said.

“This title will also be an opportunity for me to fulfill my ambitions and develop myself as a human being. Young as I am, I authentically strongly and confidently believe in myself and that nothing is impossible until it is done because the word itself says I am possible,” she explains.

Mogashoa says her greatest contribution to her community currently is being one of the most influential young ladies. This, she says, ist because of her commitment to everything that she does.

“Living a positive life and nothing can stop me from achieving my goals. As a title holder, I want to be remembered as an independent, authentic committed and passionate title holder.

“I come from Mankweng in Limpopo where teenagers are not fully taught about independence. People from my township do not believe we can achieve our goals or become what we want to be. I advocate for Independency because it has freedom from the control, influence, support or the likes of others.”
