MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya hands over a refurbished school at Ga-Mothiba

MEC for Education in Limpopo Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya on Thursday handed over a newly refurbished 21-classroom Ngwanalaka High School at Ga-Mothiba in the Capricorn District. The community had raised their concerns about the dilapidated structures and appalling conditions that their children were subjected to.
The site handover was done in February 2022 while construction commenced in March this year.

Work done at the school include refurbishment of 21 classrooms, renovations of the admin block, Construction of enviro-loo toilets [16 seats] and demolition of 6 pit toilets.
There has also been the Upgrading of the fence to steel palisade, Water reticulation, Sewer reticulation, Storm reticulation, Parking and paving as well as Drilling and equipping of a borehole.
“I am proud today Ba-Moshate to officially say that what you requested has been granted,” said MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya.
“It is my humble plea and request to all parents and community members to take care of the beautiful structures. There are many villages that are in the queue for infrastructure.”
MEC MAVHUNGU LURULE-MAKHANYA HANDS REFURBISHED SCHOOL
“I urge you to jealously guard the school and ensure that it remains intact. Principal, SMT and the School governing body, you know you have a responsibility to attend to minor repairs. Make use of the allocation in your norms and standards budget to keep the infrastructure new.
MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya has also condemned vandalizing of school properties.
“It is your responsibility to teach our children to take pride and not vandalize the school property. I would be happy to see the school in good condition when I come to visit again in a year or so.”
NUTRITION CENTER AT NGWANALAKA HIGH SCHOOL
“It was brought to my attention, and I also confirmed during my walk-about a while ago that you indeed do not have a nutrition center.
“We have made a provision for school nutrition to all our qualifying schools. It cannot be that you continue to store and cook food in make-shift shacks and classrooms.”
The MEC was also joined by Kgoshi Mothiba and other government leaders.
