Sekhukhune Livestock thief caught with 16 stolen goats

A 21-year-old Livestock thief was arrested transporting 16 stolen goats at Mamphokgo Village, Sekhukhune in Limpopo.
An off-duty sergeant was on his way home from work at around 17:00 when he spotted a suspicious White Corsa Utility bakkie with a canopy on Friday.

He immediately stopped the vehicle with the driver and one passenger. He searched the vehicle and found 16 goats and 6 sheep, some with tampered branding, the driver claimed to be going to sell the livestock at Delmas auction but failed to produce the necessary documents.
The passenger then jumped out of the vehicle and fled into bushes. The suspect aged 21 was nabbed for possession of suspected stolen livestock.
LIVESTOCK THIEF CAUGHT WITH STOLEN GOATS
Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest. She praised the cop for the bravery as livestock cases are a challenge across the Province.
The arrested suspect will appear before Motetema Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 August 2023.
