Joel Masutha part ways with Venda FC

Limpopo-based Motsepe Foundation Championship club Venda FC have parted ways with their head coach Joel Masutha. The club announced on Thursday that Masuth handed in his resignation letter on Thursday evening.
This follows the 5-1 loss to Maritzburg United, their third loss of the season.

The club released a statement on Thursday, with some contents of Masutha’s resignation letter. They also announced that current technical advisor Johnny Ferreira will now take over as an interim head coach until further notice.

“It is with great regret to inform you that I’m resigning from the head coach position with immediate effect. I am not greedy and don’t want to drag the team down the drain,” the club revealed in the letter.
“VFC’s current Technical Advisor, My John Ferreira, has agreed to step in as Interim Head Coach. Please note, that the Club shall not make further public statements/comments on the matter.”
The club will host fellow strugglers Baroka FC in a Limpopo derby at Malamulele Stadium on Sunday. Venda currently occupies 14th position while Baroka are 15th on the table.
