Premier Mathabatha hands over new ambulances in Sekhukhune

Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha on Tuesday handed over 35 brand-new ambulances to the Emergency Medical Services in the Sekhukhune District. The handover took place at the District Municipality Offices.

The handover is aligned with the set goal by the MEC for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, during the 2023/2024 budget speech. Dr Ramathuba also announced that they will provide a total of 500 new ambulances in all five districts.
Over 105 new ambulances have already been commissioned and allocated to Emergency Medical Services stations across the province.

Premier Mathabatha emphasized the crucial role of ambulance services in delivering timely medical care to patients. Ensuring immediate attention, providing vital first aid, stabilizing patients, and preventing the deterioration of their condition.
“Improving our ability to respond swiftly to emergency situations is our top priority,” said Premier Mathabatha.
“This new fleet of Emergency Medical Services vehicles represents a major step in the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare services for all residents of the province.
“It’s important to note that additional districts and Emergency Medical Services stations are in the queue to receive new ambulances in upcoming batches.” The Premier was also joined by MEC Dr Ramathuba.
