Disciplinary measures against St. Peters Christian School Pastor

The St. Peters Combined Christian School in Apel, Limpopo has instituted disciplinary action against the Pastor who allegedly assaulted a grade 12 learner for being late for a church service on Sunday.

In the pictures that have been doing the rounds on social media, the learner is seen with bruises on her back, after being assaulted by the educator who is also a resident pastor.

The learner suffered the abuse while in the middle of writing her final examinations. The educator has been identified as Diketso Matibidi.

ACTION TAKEN AGAINST ST. PETERS COMBINED CHRISTIAN SCHOOL PASTOR

In a statement released on Tuesday, the school confirmed it has instituted a disciplinary hearing against the educator.

“The parent of the student involved has been contacted and a disciplinary hearing against the pastor is currently underway,” said the school.

“The student will also undergo a medical assessment and the incident has been reported to the Police.

“We want to express our strong disapproval of Mr Matibidi’s behaviour. We will address it with the seriousness it deserves”, the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Limpopo Department of Education says the department will also institute its own investigations to ascertain the allegations.

In the meantime, the teacher has been suspended pending the disciplinary hearing process.
