DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United who play their home matches at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane have announced the appointment of Lehlohonolo Seema as the new coach. Seema takes over from Brandon Truter who was shown the door last week.

Seema himself also resigned from fellow DStv Premiership side Polokwane City despite an excellent run of form.

Sekhukhune United made the announcement on Monday after days of speculation on who will take over.

LEHLOHONOLO SEEMA APPOINTED NEW COACH AT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Lehlohonolo Seema as Head Coach effective immediately. In an effort to fill the vacant Head Coach position ahead of what promises to be a challenging November and December period, interspaced by both League and CAF Confederation Cup fixtures, ‘Babina Noko’ have acted swiftly in securing Coach Seema to steady the ship and ascend into the position,” the club said.

Meanwhile, Seema said he was looking forward to steering the Babina Noko ship after a slow start to the season.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Chairman, Mr. Simon Malatji for having afforded me an opportunity to lead the team. I’m most appreciative of how the negotiations between my management team and the Club were handled, in a respectable and candid manner.

“There is obviously a lot ahead of us and therefore I have to hit the ground running’, said Lehlohonolo Seema. I don’t wish to make any promises except to offer my work ethic and dedication to the Club and its supporters,” he added.

Seema brings in a wealth of experience having started his coaching career at Bloemfontein Celtic as co-coaches with John Maduka.

The club also announced that interim coach Mcdonald Makhubedu returns to his position as assistant coach. Nascent Nkwashu will serve as Goalkeeper Coach.
