UPDATE ON DAMAGED TAFELKOP VILLAGE BRIDGE
“We must put it categorically clear that we are not coming here to find any solution. The solution has been here [because] this construction company has been here since last year,” she said.
“There have just been some disagreements with the community and the contractor but that has been resolved. The contractor has been on the side and will continue to do the work.
“Ourselves here together with the Mayor we came to monitor what has been happening here. I think we are happy with the progress because you and I will agree that we are speaking from a layman’s point of view,”
added Nkakareng.
MEC NKAKARENG RAKGOALE HAPPY WITH PROGRESS
“We had to listen to what the engineers are saying and for now we take what they are saying. We will continue to monitor the work, before December I will be back here to see exactly what he [the contractor] has been saying. He kept on saying already the material had already been ordered. We would be waiting for that and would come back and monitor what he had been explaining, versus what we saw when we come back here. For today we are happy.”
Rakgoale was alsoĀ joined by the Roads Agency Limpopo and SANRAL officials. They also conducted assessments to determine the extent of the damage on the bridge. To also determine the kind of intervention needed to guarantee the safety of road users.
