2024 CDM 4-in-1 Marathon officially launched  

Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo officially launched the 2024 CDM 4-in-1 Marathon. The Marathon will be held on 17 February 2024 in Polokwane.

Registration is already live on the www.peaktiming.co.za website and people are encouraged to register and book their place in the race.

The past five editions have been a huge success and saw a mass participation appeal for over 2,000 runners in 2023. The Municipality is this year anticipating 3,500 runners.

“As we launch this coming edition, we do so with a commitment to not only bring people together but also promote community spirit, celebrate the grit of endurance and promote the joy of running. As you all know, the idea is to sustain Capricorn as an active region,” she Teffo.

“By promoting a healthy lifestyle and social cohesion and providing a platform for runners to qualify for ultra-marathons. This is the race that caters for all types of runners – social runners, fun runners, professional athletes; the novice and the elite. Providing a special opportunity for each participant to test their mettle.

“So, whether you are a competitive runner who wants the cash prize while qualifying for the Comrades Marathon. Whether you ae someone who is just starting on their running journey, our multi-distance marathon has something for everyone. This time, we want to take it a step further – by offering bigger prizes of R150 000. Setting the stage for a new level of motivation,” she said.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are a District that is renowned for investing massively in sport. Year in, and year out we send off a team of runners to represent our District at the Comrades Marathon as our ambassadors. Runners who use this Marathon to qualify for that ultra-marathon.”
