380 workers appointed to clean Ba-Phalaborwa communities

Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji has officially welcomed at least 380 environmental workers who will partake in the Municipal Cleaning and Greening programme.
The programme is in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. This is to combat environmental degradation and eliminate litter and illegal dumping throughout the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality.

Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji, expressed her delight with the programme. She cited that the programme will assist the municipality to reclaim its former glory as the cleanest town in the country.
The mayor also added that this mass employment element is done to address the challenge of unemployment and the alleviation of poverty in Ba-Phalaborwa communities.

She was accompanied by the speaker, Cllr Oliver Mabunda, Chief Whip, Cllr Didodo Rapatsa and the Municipal Manager, Dr Lucas Pilusa.
Meanwhile, the municipality has also alerted all residents that they are currently experiencing a cable fault. It is affecting the following extensions in Ward 12, Extension 2,3,4 and 8B.
The team needs to locate the exact location of the cable fault before repairs can resume.
