Giyani residents warned of week-long water supply interruptions

The Mopani District Municipality has announced water supply interruptions in Giyani from Monday, 22 January until Sunday, 28 January 2024.
The interruption is due to a major repair work that has to be performed at the Giyani Water Works. It’s part of the refurbishment project aimed at ensuring that the water treatment plant functions optimally.

The District says they have assigned 12 water tankers to assist residents during this period.
“Mopani District Municipality wishes to advise residents that the water supply to the areas serviced by the Giyani Water Works will be interrupted from Monday, 22 January until Sunday, 28 January 2024.
“The water tankers will be coordinated by the Greater Giyani Municipality through guidance from ward councillors,” they said.
WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS IN THE GIYANI AREA
“A planned schedule of water tankers will be shared with members of the public ahead of the shutdown. We are appealing to members of the public to store sufficient water for use during this period, and also to continue using water sparingly.
