Big revelation about Kelly Khumalo at Senzo Meyiwa trial

There has been a big revelation about Kelly Khumalo at the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial as Brigadier Bongani Gininda continues to testify. The murder trial is taking place at the high court in Pretoria, Gauteng.

In the past few days, the court has heard that murder accused Bongani Ntanzi was allegedly a gun dealer supplying weapons to hitmen in KwaZulu-Natal and Marikana in the lead-up to the killing of Meyiwa.

This is after a statement from Simphiwe Buthelezi, who is a self-confessed middleman. He claimed to have worked with Ntanzi in the illegal gun trade. He was also the person who led the police to him when Ntanzi was arrested in 2020.

Lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda’s affidavit states that accused 1, Muzi Sibiya implicated Kelly Khumalo as being the person who ordered the killing of Senzo Meyiwa.

According to a report by SABC, a second accused in the trial has implicated Kelly Khumalo as the person who ordered and paid for the killing of the former Orlando Pirates star. The information is contained in lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda’s affidavit. It further states there were cellphone linkages between Kelly Khumalo and accused 3 and 5.

“There is no reasonable explanation why she would be in contact with her boyfriend’s killer. It is clear she hated him. She meant killing him. A photo of money which was found on accused 3, Carlos Mncube was also found on Kelly Khumalo’s phone,” that’s according to a statement from Gininda.

On Tuesday, there was also a delay in the trial. This is due to a dispute between the state and defence over dockets involving alleged crimes committed.
