Meanwhile, Black Leopards also won 3-1 against Platinum City Rovers at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday to keep their hopes of promotion alive. They are currently on 26 points, eight behind AmaTuks.
Their coach Solly Luvhengo was pleased with how his team played in Thohoyandou on Saturday. “We played very well on Wednesday, but we ended up with a disappointing result. We have played Platinum City Rovers before and we saw that there are spaces that we can exploit. That’s why we went with three up front with very speedy players.”
Luvhengo also singled out new signing Donald Mudau who scored a hattrick in just his second match. “God works in mysterious ways. We played Mudau in the first game when we opened after we signed him in January. The boy got chances in that first game but he missed. The supporters were after him and I stood up and told him I support you.
“I told him we know why we signed you and coach Papi [Zothwane] had a chat with him yesterday to stay calm. The goals will come just from being in the good areas. We are happy that he was rewarded with a hat trick which is the quickest in the Motsepe foundation championship. For me I am happy for him and the rest of the team.” Another Limpopo side Venda FC got a crucial win away to Hungry Lions on Saturday.
