Bela-Bela Mayor hands School uniform to the needy

The Mayor of the Bela-Bela Local Municipality Gloria Modiegi Seleka handed over school uniforms to 56 Learners on Friday. The handover is in partnership with the Limpopo Department of Social Development.

The learners who benefited are from Hleketani Primary School [49] and Ulando Combined School [7]. The initiative is part of the School Support Program. The event was attended by councillors, parents, the Circuit Manager and Officials from Social development.

MAYOR GLORIA MODIEGI SELEKA HANDED OVER SCHOOL UNIFORMS TO LEARNERS

In her address, the Mayor said that even though Education is not the Municipality’s core mandate, it is imperative for the Municipality to support the education sector. By fostering partnerships that will benefit learners, educators and schools in ensuring that education remains a societal priority.

William Baloyi who represented the parents of the identified learners applauded the efforts of the Municipality and the Department of Social Development. He encouraged the Mayor to continue to mobilize more resources to assist Learners from vulnerable families.
