Limpopo Law enforcement officers warned against soliciting bribes in the wake of several complaints from members of the public.
The SAPS has reiterated its call for community members to report any incidents of solicitation of bribes by police officers. Community members are also warned against participating in such corrupt activities as they will equally face the consequences.

Provincial Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has issued a stern warning to culprits. She also highlighted a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption.
“Corruption undermines the rule of law and erodes public trust in our institution. It is a setback towards the creation of safer communities,” said Hadebe.
“We are therefore committed to rooting out any form of corruption within our ranks,” she stated.

Members of the public have also raised complaints in various policing areas across the province.
“The success of our efforts to fight corruption depends on the co-operation between the police and the community. We urge anyone with information on corrupt activities to come forward. Your anonymity will be protected,” she assured.
The SAPS say they are also intensifying internal anti-corruption measures. Ā Including the establishment of dedicated units focused on internal investigations, regular integrity testing, and enhanced surveillance and monitoring of high-risk individuals and areas.
“We are resolute in our mission to ensure a corruption-free police service that the people of Limpopo can be proud of,” concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.
