Premier Mathabatha hand over laptops in Motetema

Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha on Thursday visited Mafato Community Primary School in Motetema to hand over laptops for the learners and teachers. The School is situated at the Elias Motsoaledi local municipality.

This gesture is a continuation of his birthday celebration that took place in January where he handed over 10 laptops. He also committed to installing solar systems and air conditioners for the efficiency of the school and to ensure that learning and teaching continue unabated.

Premier Mathabatha expressed that the 17 laptops was not charity work nor a political stunt. But a gesture that is close to his heart as an alumni of the school. He has also committed to building additional classrooms for the school and adding to the laptops that have already been given.

“This is the school where I unveiled the potential in me because it is the best where almost everything, all my horizons started shaping up,” said Mathabatha.

“As a result, I will never forget this school. Hence on my birthday, I then decided that let me plaugh back. Let me go back to where I come from. Now that I am actually going towards the end of my career, let me go back to where I come from and try to plough something.

“These presents that I am presenting here are basically not an act of charity. It’s an act of saying, I want to express the kind of love that I have for the children that are here. It’s an act of saying I want to commit to a continuous relationship with the school,” he added.

Mafato School Principal Stephina Pheeha has also shown gratitude to the Premier for the laptops.

“There will be no reason for learners to fail now, as we have all the resources we need to succeed.”

She further explained that these generous gestures have improved the quality of their lesson preparations as teachers, as well as a conducive environment for learners to learn.
