“Now when we stand here, it proves that things are coming together,” Mayor Musolwa told residents in attendance.
“As the government, we stand hand in hand with Sampada Private Equity. They did explain that the money that is going to be used to build this Mall is over R200 million. They also explained that this Mall was supposed to be 5500 square metres when they started. It has now increased it to 10,000 square metres.
“That just means that if it was a two-room house, it is now going to be a four-roomed house,” he explained to the residents gathered at the ceremony.
“They have also mentioned that they are bringing companies such as Shoprite, Ackermans and others. So that means in these shops there will be those that come to clean, to sell and to guard.
“This means that as a community, we are reducing unemployment. So it means if we hire 200 people it means more than 1 000 people will be assisted. This investment is for you people of Oaks, you must take care of it.”
