Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha on Wednesday chaired his last Executive Council meeting before his term of offices comes to an end.
Mathabatha, who has been premier for the past 11 years, will not be returning to office after the national Elections later this month. This means the province is set to have a new premier after a decade at the helm.

The meeting on Wednesday also served as a platform to conclude crucial matters of the 6th Term of Administration. To also reflect on milestones and challenges, as well as to wrap up transitional plans in preparation for the 7th Administration.
“It feels like it was just yesterday when I was recalled from my ambassadorial role in Ukraine,” said Mathabatha.
“I cannot believe that it has been eleven years already? Eleven challenging but fulfilling years of my life. I leave this role thrilled that I served my province when it needed me most.
