Parents urged to submit admission forms before deadline date

The Limpopo Department of Education has called on parents to collect, fill and submit admission forms at all public schools for grade R, one and 8 learners in preparation for the 2025 academic year.

Chief education specialist at the department, Marwala Rasethaba told Capricorn FM News that there will be no online admissions. As such the walk-in admission process will take place until the 31st of July. Dates for other grades will be made available in due course.

Rasethaba says when parents return the admission forms to schools, they should sign for them and ensure that their proof of residence is attached to the documents. So that when they have any grievances, the department will be able to check the records.

He says there are four criteria that the department will be looking at when admitting learners. This include a home’s proximity to the school, siblings who are already in the school. The school’s proximity to the parent’s workplace and a high school that’s in the same area as a primary school a child was attending.
