Despite the arrival of a new coach, Limpopo side Baroka FC failed to secure a win against Richards Bay in their PSL Promotion Playoffs match in Lebowakgomo on Saturday. Bakgaga came into the match following a 1-0 loss to the University of Pretoria in their first match.

It was the first official match under interim coach Morgan Mammila who joined on a short-term deal. Mammila, who is the club’s former CEO replaced Dan Malesela, after a fallout with the management of the club.
Mammila only made one change with Tshidiso Patjie coming in for Khomotjo Lekoloane.
WHAT DOES THE DRAW AGAINST RICHARDS BAY IN THE PSL PROMOTION PLAYOFFS MEAN FOR BAROKA FC?
The result meant Baroka remain at the bottom of the mini-league log after two matches. Richards Bay are top with four points while AmaTuks are second with three points.
Meanwhile, Mammila has reflected on his return to Baroka where he spent his time as CEO. “It was not a job that I was eying, I was home,” he told the media.
“Remember I just came from wherever I was. I was at home relaxing. But once a brother took the phone and said ‘How are you’, I said I was fine and remember this is my home.
“This team has made me who I am and I can’t say no to a brother of mine when he asks. Of course, Baroka is me whether I like it or not, Baroka is me. Morgan without Baroka, I’m nothing,” he alluded.
Baroka’s next match will be at home to AmaTuks in Lebowakgomo on Wednesday. Should they fail to win, the club will remain in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the upcoming season. Kick off for the match on Wednesday in 15:00.
